Bollards, Spike Lights, In-Ground & Deck Lights
Bollard lights line driveways and garden paths, casting light downward for safe wayfinding without glare. Space every 2-3 metres. Spike spotlights push into soil to uplight trees and architectural plants. In-ground lights flush-mount into paving, decks, or lawns to reveal pathways and pool edges at night. All IP67-rated for rain and foot traffic.

Security & Perimeter
Pillar Lights, Wall Washers, Floodlights & Solar
Pillar lights mount on gate posts to mark your entrance and create a grand first impression. Wall washers flood an entire wall or fence line with even light — one replaces 3-4 individual up-down lights for long boundary walls. Solar floodlights with LiFePO4 batteries charge by day and deliver security-grade light at night with no wiring or running cost.
Design Styles
Contemporary | Vintage | Minimalist
Contemporary outdoor lights feature geometric lines, matte black aluminium, and integrated LED with up-down beam patterns that turn walls into light features. Vintage and traditional styles use wrought iron, perforated lanterns, and frosted glass panels for character by day and atmosphere by night. Minimalist designs use simple shapes and flush profiles — invisible by day, elegant light patterns after dark.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do outdoor lights cost in Kenya?
Outdoor lights at Lighting Studio range from KSh 1,250 for a GU10 spike spotlight to KSh 8,900 for a premium contemporary outdoor lamp. Most popular LED up-down outdoor wall lights fall in the KSh 1,350-4,800 range. Bollard lights cost KSh 4,800-6,500. All prices include VAT.
How many outdoor lights do I need for my compound?
For perimeter walls, space lights 3-4 metres apart for even illumination. A typical Kenyan home with a 30-metre perimeter needs 8-10 outdoor wall lights. For entrances, place one or two statement lights on each side of the door or gate. Our Hexagonal wall lights at KSh 1,350 each make whole-perimeter lighting affordable.
What is the difference between IP44, IP65, and IP67?
IP44 protects against splashes only — use under covered verandahs and carports. IP65 is fully dust-tight and resistant to water jets from any direction — the minimum rating for exposed outdoor use in Kenya with our tropical rain patterns. IP67 can withstand temporary submersion — use for in-ground lights and coastal installations. All our modern LED outdoor lights are IP65 or higher.
Warm white or cool white for outdoor lights?
Use warm white (2700-3000K) for welcoming areas: entrances, patios, garden dining spaces. Warm tones complement wood, stone, and natural materials. Use cool white (4000-5000K) for security and visibility: perimeter walls, driveways, parking areas. The rule is simple: warm for welcome, cool for security.
Can outdoor lights be dimmed?
LED up-down outdoor lights are typically not dimmable as they have integrated drivers. However, you can control them with timers, motion sensors, or smart switches for on/off automation. Traditional E27-socket outdoor lights (vintage lanterns, bulkheads) accept dimmable LED bulbs and work with Triac dimmers.
How do I light a tree properly?
Place a spike spotlight 30-50cm from the tree base, angled at 30-45 degrees upward into the canopy. Use 150-300 lumens (3-5W) for small trees, 400-800 lumens for large trees. For dramatic effect, cross-light from two sides to eliminate flat shadows. Our GU10 spike spotlight (KSh 1,250) and narrow beam spot (KSh 2,200) are designed for this.
What is the best outdoor light for security?
For perimeter security, use cool white (4000K) LED up-down wall lights spaced 3-4 metres apart. Look for 700-1500 lumen output (10-20W). Add motion sensors at key entry points. Our Hexagonal and Modern 4-Light wall lights provide excellent wash coverage for security applications.
Do you have solar outdoor lights?
Yes. We stock a solar floodlight with a long-lasting LiFePO4 battery and separate solar panel. Solar is ideal for remote areas and accent lighting in Kenya, where 12 hours of equatorial sun provides reliable charging. For permanent, high-output lighting (perimeter security, entrance statements), hardwired LED lights deliver superior brightness. More solar products coming soon.
How far apart should I space perimeter wall lights?
Space outdoor wall lights 3-4 metres apart along perimeter walls for even illumination without dark gaps. A typical Kenyan compound with a 30m perimeter needs 8-10 wall lights. Up-down LED lights create overlapping wash patterns when spaced correctly, eliminating shadow zones between fixtures.
